PTA
Hazel Luque, PTA is a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant in the State of New Jersey. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Rutgers University in 2013. Shortly after graduation, she discovered her true passion was to help people through exercise and proper movement. She became a certified personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) and earned specializations in Corrective Exercise (CES) and Youth Exercise (YES). Hazel attended the Physical Therapist Assistant Program at Essex County College, where she graduated with high honors and an Associates Degree in Applied Science in 2018.
Hazel was exposed to a diverse array of injuries/diagnoses while in PTA school. She developed a strong interest in orthopedic rehabilitation and worked with post-surgical cases to the weekend warrior. While at school, Hazel gained experience working with children who were diagnosed with coordination and neurological deficits.
Having been an athlete throughout her life, Hazel was naturally drawn to CrossFit and obtained the CrossFit Level 1 Instructor Certification in 2014. She continues to hold a passion for exercise and fitness and is currently working towards her certification as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. She is excited to continue her journey as a Physical Therapist Assistant with Scerbo Physical Therapy and is ready to assist patients towards reaching their goals.
